Organization – Walk-in Closet for Two

Sometimes more space is more trouble rather than a luxury. This closet was difficult to navigate and hard to find what you needed because there was no system. All apparel was gone through, sized, colorized, categorized, re-hung, and clearly separated between Mr. and Mrs. THe end result was a beautifully manicured closet that is a joy to start your day in!

This massive closet was tackled in two sessions. Session 1 was used to re-organize and group items by category and size. Then it was time for the client’s to do a little homework: by going through labeled categories of sized items and tossing the items that no longer fit or had a notation (ex. Hole in sleeve/ heavy pills) in the “donate” bin.

While the clients did their homework, I did mine. The donate pile was itemized for tax purposes (with tax receipt) and bagged. Session 2 was all about beautification. Categories were established and then colorized, putting like items together (ex. dress pants with dress shirts/ lounge pants with tees). Black velvet hangers were used throughout.

By using these white y-weave baskets and clear bins with white lids, accessories and shoes are ensured labeled homes that can be easily maintained.

Colorizing your wardrobe makes it easier to put outfits together, shows you what you have Vs. what you might need, and it looks like a boutique! Why not shop your closet instead?
